ABOUT

Liz (Hayman) Flick is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT# 92417) based out of San Francisco, California who specializes in work with adult individuals. Liz believes that individual work can often be an important and complementary component of couples therapy. The more individuals can understand their own beliefs, feelings and experiences, the better they will be able to communicate with their partners in order to resolve conflicts and deepen connection.

EDUCATION

Liz received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems approaches. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University.

TRAINING

Throughout her training, Liz has worked with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents throughout the Bay Area. She has worked with medical patients bedside at California Pacific Medical Center hospital in the transplant, oncology, and palliative care units. She also completed training at Family Service Agency of Marin where she worked with adults in substance abuse recovery and co-facilitated women’s groups. Also at FSA Marin, she received training in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Liz also trained at the Daly City Youth Health center working with adolescents and their parents and running girls support groups in local high schools. She has also worked in private practice settings with adults and couples at Haight Asbury Psychological Services and the San Francisco Counseling Center.

CERTIFICATIONS

During her training at CPMC hospital, Liz received a certification in Expressive Arts Therapy and Guided Imagery through the Institute for Health and Healing. Liz is also a certified Parent Child Interaction Therapy therapist.
