How Counseling Works

What is relationship counseling?

Relationships are not easy. However, we all strive for the love and connectedness they can provide. Without good relationships, we may feel alone and often, unhappy. Engaging in individual, couples or relational therapy is an opportunity to achieve more fulfilling relationships.

You might be wondering, "do we need counseling," "how is counseling different from seeking advice from my friends", or even, "I'm not sure counseling will help."  All of these questions are good questions to be asking. However, if you are considering couples counseling, it could be one of the most important steps you take in your relationship.

Our therapists are trained in both the art and science of relationships. It is our job to first listen to your story from an unbiased point of view, then to help you develop a path to achieve happiness in your relationships, in whatever form that takes. Sometimes the messages we deliver may be difficult, but, unlike friends, we don't have a biased agenda. What we offer you is years of specialized training, education and research to empower you to address your most complicated and sensitive issues.

  3. Before your first session, consider this question, "If I wake up tomorrow and all of my relational problems were gone, what would my life be like?"
